My Experience Using Alyapay at KITEA Rabat

I recently used Alya for the first time while shopping at KITEA Rabat, and overall it was a positive introduction to the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) experience in Morocco.

Since I already had an account, I only needed to add my bank card. The store representative initiated the transaction, and I received an SMS with a confirmation link. The first link didn't work, so it had to be resent twice before the payment could proceed. Once that was resolved, I was redirected to the CMI Maroc payment page, confirmed the transaction, and everything went smoothly.

My main suggestion would be to provide additional training for in-store staff and further streamline the checkout flow. As someone comfortable with technology, the issue wasn't a major obstacle, but less tech-savvy customers could find this kind of friction frustrating.

After sharing this experience on LinkedIn, I was pleasantly surprised by the response. Both the Alya team including founder and CEO Brahim Zaid and KITEA Morocco engaged with my post. KITEA acknowledged the feedback and committed to improving the customer experience, while Alya welcomed the comments and showed openness to user feedback.

It's encouraging to see Moroccan fintech companies and their partners actively listening to customers. This kind of dialogue is essential for building better products and accelerating the adoption of digital financial services.

Overall, it was a smooth first experience with BNPL in Morocco, and I'm looking forward to seeing how Alya and its retail partners continue to improve the experience.
